bikago scooter rental review

Booking a trip to Bali or Phuket and wondering how you’ll get around? A scooter, in my opinion, is the only way to go. With BIKAGO, the scooter rental process is easy and streamlined. In this post, we’ll share with you a BIKAGO scooter rental review. You can get a fair number of places on foot, but the most common and easy method of transportation is by scooter or motorbike. When you arrive in Bali or Phuket, you can usually find a scooter for rent on just about any street corner. You can read our blog How to Rent a Scooter in Bali for a detailed account of our experience renting a scooter.

BIKAGO wasn’t around when we took our trip to Bali, but I wish it had been! With BIKAGO, you can set up a scooter reservation ahead of time, securing your transportation without “winging it.” If you like to have a plan and feel better making reservations ahead of time, BIKAGO is the way to go.

As you book your BIKAGO reservation, you can have the scooter delivered to your hotel or other accommodations. This way, your scooter is ready and waiting for you and you don’t have to take time away from your itinerary to find one. You will already know the price you’re paying and won’t have to negotiate.

BIKAGO: Book online, Scooter is delivered, enjoy your adventure!

For this BIKAGO scooter rental review, I wanted to make sure I did my research since we haven’t personally used the service. It gets amazing reviews on TripAdvisor, and I was impressed with the amount of people who have been happy with it. The scooters are delivered and retrieved to and from anywhere on the island of Bali or the area around Phuket. This is included when renting for three or more days. The price includes a sanitized helmet, 24/7 roadside assistance and customer care. The only negative recent review was about holiday pricing.

We had our fair share of scooters that were basically falling apart. One scooter we had was in such poor condition that my foot peg fell off during a long ride in the countryside of Bali and I had to stretch my leg forward to share Greg’s for the rest of the day. It was a bit awkward and kind of a safety hazard. BIKAGO guarantees well-maintained and relatively new scooters that are going to be comfortable and reliable. Had I known about BIKAGO back then, I would have booked our scooter rentals with them just for this reason alone! Most of the rentals we had were okay, but a few were pretty bad because there weren’t any other options available when we arrived at the next destination.

While we are all about safety and reliable transportation, I also want to make sure I am getting a good deal. So another aspect of this BIKAGO scooter rental review is pricing. I priced out a 7-day reservation (remember, the delivery and collection is only included with a rental that is three or more days), and was impressed with the competitive pricing. For just over $10 per day, I could get a one-year-old Honda PCX 160 or the Yamaha nMax that holds two people comfortable. Or, for the same price, I could choose a sporty Yamaha XSR or the Honda CB 150X.

The insurance policy adds another $5 per day, which seems pretty reasonable. The rental comes with a fee helmet, first aid kit and cell phone holder. All in all, I had a 7-day scooter rental with insurance for just over a hundred bucks.

You may be able to save some money by negotiating with the guy on the street corner, but it won’t come with an insurance policy, and you’ll be limited to the inventory he has available at the time you arrive. By making a reservation with BIKAGO ahead of time, you’ll guarantee a high quality bike and experience.
